Research at Biochemistry & Structural Biology

The focus of the research activities at the Devision of Biochemistry and Structural Biology is on some major areas of modern biochemistry and structural biology. It covers topics such as membrane protein structure and mechanisms of function; structure, function and dynamics of enzymes; molecular interactions and large structure of macromolecular assemblies; bio-electrochemistry; RNA, DNA and metal-based cancer therapy.

Together with standard biochemical and molecular biology laboratory techniques, a wide range of biochemical and biophysical methods are used. Among those are X-ray crystallography, small-angle X-ray scattering, state-of-the art ESI mass spectrometry, microcalorimetry (ITC, DSC), surface plasmon resonance (Biacore 3000), ellipsometry, chromatography, CD spectroscopy and dynamic light scattering (DLS).

More detailed information on the different research projects can be found on the menu bar on the left.
